Who We Support
Why Sensory-Inclusive Oral Care Matters

Brushing your teeth is something most people don’t think twice about, but for others it can be one of the hardest moments of the day. Children who are sensitive to taste or texture may find ordinary toothpaste unbearable. Adults in assisted or palliative care may feel discomfort or anxiety when faced with strong mint or foaming products. These experiences aren’t small, they affect confidence, comfort and daily wellbeing.

A sensory-inclusive approach is about meeting people where they are. When oral care feels gentle and predictable, brushing becomes easier to accept and easier to support. The goal isn’t to make routines perfect, but to make them calmer and kinder so everyone involved, parents, carers and the person being supported, feels more at ease.
